Complimentary image capture and analysis software
The UVIdoc HD2 is a standalone gel documentation system. A 1.4 megapixel camera, with 12-bit pixel
depth for increased dynamic range, produces high quality images for publication and quantification.
An easy-share network connection allows images generated within the laboratory to be downloaded
remotely within the office with minimal risk of spreading ethidium bromide contamination, although
four USB ports are available for the simultaneous connection of a USB flash drive, printer and mouse if
required. Standard features include saturation monitoring to ensure images remain fully quantifiable;
an 8.4 inch TFT LCD panel; an epoxy-painted stainless steel cabinet with built-in roll-out 8W
transilluminator; plus a 3-position filter wheel and white light epi-illumination. Also included as
standard is UVIdoc 1D software with its comprehensive gel imaging, analysis and annotation tools.
UVIPURE Technology
Each UVIdoc HD2 may be supplied either with a standard 312nm transilluminator or a transilluminator
with cutting-edge UVIPURE technology. UVIPURE transilluminators contain special filter glass that
eliminates background visible light wavelengths to maximise contrast and signal-to-noise for even the
faintest of fluorescent signals, allowing them to be seen by the naked eye. This allows broad
transmission camera filters to be used within the UVIdoc system, ensuring that maximum transmission
of the fluorescent signal is always achieved.
UVIband
Available separately, UVIband 1D software is designed for powerful and accurate analysis of 1D gels to
produce molecular weight and quantitative data. The software is user-friendly and benefits from a host
of features that include: automatic lane detection; the ability to add new standards and create standard
libraries; background subtraction; 2D and 3D area/lane profiling; free form optical density calibration;
automatic calculation of band and array concentrations. UVIband software is ideal for the following applications: -

UVIbandmap analysis and database software offers all of the 1D analysis functions of UVIband, but also
benefits from the key features of UVImap software function, which include: database management; band
data pattern matching and dendrogram generation; plus lane identification and multiprobe analysis.
